A flotation suit is basically a suit with built in buoyancy to provide warmth and flotation in the event of falling overboard. Designed for seafaring professionals but also ideal for freshwater anglers wanting to keep warm and dry while onboard and an extra bit of safety in the case of going overboard.

My original floatation suit was a Prologic green suit, a very good heavy duty suit but I was looking for something lighter weight that I could also wear bank fishing. My boat partner Guy recently invested in a lighter weight Realtree Fladen suit and I was impressed with it.
Realtree pattern would not be my first choice but I decided that I could put up with it. In use I found the Fladen to be a more flexible, and therefore comfortable, suit compared to the Prologic suit. Warmth hasn’t been compromised though, the Fladen is still a warm suit. This means that it can be used in slightly warmer weather and for bank fishing, especially static bait fishing where one can easily feel the cold.
This suit gets a thumbs up from me!
